She and her brother stood out like dandelions on a putting green among the varsity class of Brierbrook Private School. They didn’t have a single piece of designer Nike or Calvin Klein clothing between them. They definitely could not afford a smart phone, not even one of those old flip-phones you can get on eBay for 99 cents. But possessions were the last things on Josie’s mind at that moment; they were in Ireland. Freakin’ Ireland.
History
In 1873, Brierbrook High School was incorporated by the State of New York as the Academic Department of Brierbrook University as an all-boys boarding school.
In 1910, the boarding portion of the school was closed, and it was expanded for co-ed education in 1962. By September 1970 it became the largest private high school in Western New York serving 325 students.
