Terms
The house rules, in plain language. Using the site means you accept them.
The service
Badass Novels is a writing studio for novelists. It is invite-only right now. We can refuse an invite, or close the door if the product is full. The public site, the app, and any related tools are the “service.”
Your account
Keep your login to yourself. Tell us if you think someone else has it. You are responsible for what happens under your account. One person per login, please. Workspaces can add members you invite.
Your writing
You own what you write. We do not claim your novel. You give us a limited license to store it, show it back to you and your workspace members, and generate the exports you ask for. If you publish a public book page or author site, you also let us show that page to visitors.
What you must not do
- Upload anything illegal, or anything you have no right to store here.
- Try to break, scrape, or overload the service.
- Use the product to spam people or to impersonate someone else.
- Share an invite in a way that dumps a pile of throwaway accounts on us.
Money
Your first novel stays free. Paid plans, when they exist, will be priced on the site before you are charged. We are not taking cards on the homepage today. If a charge ever fails, we will talk to you before cutting access to paid extras.
AI tools
Optional Grok tools send the text you select to xAI with your own key. You decide when that happens. We are not liable for what an outside model does with that request.
The service as-is
We work hard to keep the lights on. We do not promise zero downtime, perfect backups, or that a feature will stay forever. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot lose. Exports exist for a reason.
Ending things
You can stop using the service at any time. We can close an account that breaks these terms, or one we cannot keep hosting. If we shut the product down, we will give writers a chance to export first, unless the law says we must stop sooner.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top is the tell. Keeping an account after a change means you accept the new version. If a change is big, we will say so in the changelog.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. If we ever have a dispute we cannot settle by email, the Irish courts have a say. Write to kevin@savvybrain.com first. That is almost always faster.
